There’s another new Star Wars series in development. This one is being run by Russian Doll co-creator and showrunner Leslye Headland.

Details of the exact plot of the series are being kept under wraps, but sources say it will be a female-centric series that takes place in a different part of the “Star Wars” timeline than other projects. Headland is said to be attached to write and serve as showrunner on the series, with the show currently staffing.

Just a thought that comes to mind. And this is pure speculation by me…
Season two of The Mandalorian is strongly rumoured to include an appearance by Ahsoka Tano. She’s a character from the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars who will be making her live action debut played by Rosario Dawson.
It makes all the sense in the world to me that a good way for Disney to expand the Star Wars universe would be to take a character like Ahsoka and put her in as the star of a new live action show - especially when you have a big name talent like Rosario Dawson involved. And really… doesn’t that make more sense than to stunt cast with Ahsoka and use her for just an episode or two?
Charlie Brooker is coming back with a new wipe. Charlie Brooker’s Antibacterial Wipe will be his first Wipe special since 2016. There’s no date yet for the 30 minute special.
Charlie will be taking a typically sharp look at life in lockdown, in a show made during lockdown. As well as coverage of the crisis itself, he'll also be looking at the things people are watching and doing to keep themselves occupied. The show will also feature Philomena Cunk (Diane Morgan) with her own very special brand of in-depth reporting, alongside Barry Shitpeas (Al Campbell) and other contributors who haven't been told they're doing it yet, but have no good excuse not to.

Also worth noting from the BBC media release is that Matt Berry is back with a spin-off from his mockumentary The Road To Brexit. He’ll again play host Michael Squeamish:
Following the success of last year’s anarchic mockumentary, The Road To Brexit (pictured above), cult favourite Matt Berry (What We Do In The Shadows) returns to BBC Two with four more episodes (4x15') that will take on a bold and eclectic selection of new themes.
Co-written by Berry and Arthur Mathews (Father Ted, Toast Of London) each new weekly episode of Squeamish About… will shine a weird and wonderful light onto a different topic. Presented by Berry in the persona of ‘Michael Squeamish’, every episode will make creative use of archive footage and voiceover to create a unique, authored and surreally comic take on the subject matter.

The BBC also revealed that The First Team, a new series by the creators of The Inbetweeners, will debut in late May.

Written by the award-winning creators of The Inbetweeners, the new BBC series follows the off-the-pitch misadventures of three young football players (played by Shaquille Ali-Yebuah, Jack McMullen and Jake Short).
According to a press release, the boys “find themselves struggling with their mercurial Italian manager Cesare, the team’s eccentric American Chairman, resident hard-man Petey Brooks and ineffectual coach Chris Booth.”
Yes, that is Chris Geere (You’re The Worst, Modern Family) and Will Arnett (the voice of the yellow M&M and he’s been in other things too, probably) in the cast.
This teaser for HBO Max is really interesting to watch in that it really highlights the breadth of the Warner Bros library. It only shows a couple of titles, but it is a reminder that anyone signing up for the service will suddenly have access to a library of the world’s most-loved movies and TV shows.
It’s very similar in that way to the promise of Disney+, but with a much stronger offer of new original content too. But… here’s the question I have: When a person is trawling through a large library of movies and TV they’ve seen before, does that actually diminish the ability for a person to find something they want to watch?
