ABW TV Guide: All the new & returning TV to watch this weekend (15-17 Nov 2019)
Weekly guide compiled by Dan Barrett
Every Friday I send out a newsletter update which features all of the new and returning shows that have aired in the past week. The idea is to provide a way to stay on top of the TV you might want to watch, in these days of too-much TV.
But this week there is a challenge with the newsletter.
Most of the readership of this newsletter is Australian. But, the newsletter is written for a broader audience - to my mind, it is for those in the US, UK, and Australia. I always post about the first airing of a show, not the first airing in a country. For Netflix, Amazon, and Apple TV+ shows which are globally released it makes that very easy - everyone gets it at the same time.
Disney+ made it hard this week. Below are all the new and returning shows. Many of the new ones are on Disney+ - a global service that isn’t yet available in the UK or here in Australia. Thankfully, Australia comes online this coming Tuesday.
If Disney+ hasn’t launched in your country yet, maybe take the opportunity to catch up on some TV you’ve missed.
There’s a fun web series that launched last month on YouTube called Australia’s Best Street Racer. Produced by Nathan Earl (a longtime troublemaker behind the scenes with Aus comedy team The Chaser), the series is about a young bloke getting his P plates, who is attempting to make his mark on Launceston’s late-night street racing community. But he’s doing it in his Mum’s 1994 Holden Barina.
The first episode is here:
Rick & Morty (s4), Shameless (s10), The Man In The High Castle (s4)
Kristen Bell reunites the cast of a high school musical and asks them to perform it again years later. Each former student reprises their role from their original production under the tutelage of Broadway directors, choreographers and voice coaches.
