American Crime Story: Impeachment is the big release of the week. I never know whether to consider an anthology like this as a returning show or a series in its own right. Either way, it is the series most of you will want to check out. And, honestly, your mileage will vary on it.

Some viewers will get a real kick out of seeing actors inhabiting the roles of real life figures that were plastered across our screens during the late 90s. Several of the performances are quite incredible. Sarah Paulson is quite incredible as Linda Tripp. Beanie Feldstein less-so as Monica Lewinsky. And while I struggled with Feldstein, the bigger problem in this is the music and cinematography. I had to remind myself that it was a top tier TV production and not a schlocky TV movie made for Lifetime.

Another big one for the week is Doogie Kamealoha MD. A reboot of Doogie Howser MD, the first episode takes much of its story and structure from the pilot episode of Doogie Howser. Only this is a bit broader, certainly more colorful, and has 100% more surfing. It's a family show and don't expect much more than that. But it meets the brief. Peyton Lee is strong in the lead. And it is fun seeing Jason Scott Lee back on my screen after 20+ years.

The show I was really looking forward to was the Julie Delpy Netflix show On The Verge. There's a very good reason this show has zero buzz.

Gosh - I'm a real Debbie Downer this week.
