With the Winter Olympics still going, the number of new releases right now is pretty light on.
By far my pick for things to watch is the second season of the wonderfully charming UK comedy Starstruck. It returned in the UK this week, but sorry Aussie readers, it doesn't debut here until midway through next week on ABC iView. Still no word on a US release on season 2 by way of HBO Max.
The most high profile series return is Inventing Anna. It's a new limited series from Shonda Rhimes, a woman who knows how to put together a compelling TV show. This one is based on a real life fraud case that saw the New York wealthy robbed. Bust out the tiny violins on that one. Reviews for the show have been middling.
My advice for this weekend... The Marvellous Mrs Maisel returns next Friday. With no new episodes since Dec 2019, I would assume your memory of the show is pretty foggy. I've seen the return episodes and while, yes, you are provided with enough information and memory prods to remember what is going on, you might still wish you had watched it a bit more recently. You have a full week to at least re-watch the 3rd season finale. But heck - it's a quiet week. Just rewatch the show. It's worth your time.
I'm planning to spend part of the weekend finally getting started on the book Tinderbox: HBO's Ruthless Pursuit of New Frontiers. It tells the behind the scenes stories that led to the powerhouse TV brand being what it is today. Shocking I haven't cracked the spine on it yet...
