Today's newsletter comes from the Sydney, Australia branch office, which is in the midst of being shuttered. There's boxes everywhere and a lost cache of Blu-Rays discovered.
The big title of the week is Peacemaker, which is the loud and brash TV series spin-off from the recent The Suicide Squad movie. I've seen the first few episodes and thought it was great, juvenile fun. Emphasis on juvenile. It marks the start of a strategy by Warners to create TV series tie-ins to its big theatrical releases going forward. There's similar spin-offs in the works for the upcoming The Batman movie and a Dune-related series.
I haven't seen it yet, but stop-motion animation series The House on Netflix. It's an anthology film of three short movies. Be sure to check out that trailer - it looks like it may well be something special. And THAT CAST - Matthew Goode, Helena Bonham Carter, and Jarvis Cocker (!!!). I'll get onto it as soon as I finish packing boxes. Right now, that feels like a forever away.
