If you're a fan of the William Gibson book The Peripheral is based on, you may be a bit disappointed by the Amazon series adaptation. Capturing the ideas of a writer like Gibson to a screen work is challenging. But, I found it to be a pretty standard sci-fi show that has the potential to develop in an interesting way as the first season goes on. Keep in mind that there's a pretty big reveal in the second episode after what is a fairly by-the-numbers first installment.
Something I really liked is Netflix stop-motion/CGI animation hybrid series ONI: Thunder God's Tale. It is based on Japanese myth and is a really charming 4-episode family animated show. The selling point is just how gorgeous the visuala look of the show is. Just stunning.
