This is the sort of weekend where if you aren't looking for anything new, you are bound to find a returning show that you're very excited to see back.
The fanboys and gals will be excited to see the return of The Orville and The Boys. Serious drama enthusiasts will be very happy that Borgen is back for another season, now a Netflix original. There will probably even be one or two people enthused to see Physical back on Apple TV+.
Me? I'm excited that three of those shows are back - I'm happy to give Physical a miss on account of it simply not being very good. What I'm also excited by is the return of the very-easy-to-watch family show Floor Is Lava on Netflix. How it took this long for them to get to season 2 of that show is baffling.
Worth noting for Australian ABW readers, The Wonder Years remake has finally appeared on Disney+ by way of Star. The show is good, but failed to charm me the way the original did when I was... *check notes* a 9 year-old child. Okay, maybe that shouldn't be the benchmark...
Also launching in Australia is the horror show From. Broadcast in the US on Epix, it streams here on Stan and stars Harold Perrinau (Lost) as the sherrif of a small town that is plagued every night by monsters knocking on their doors and windows asking to be let in. Fans of Lost will note a number of writers and producers from that series are involved here and it does look and feel very familiar. I've only seen the first two episodes so far, but started to find it surprisingly compelling by the end of the first one.
