It's another week of Olympics, which means there isn't a whole lot of premium new streaming content available this week. You might be tempted by The Rock in his latest Disney film Jungle Cruise. It is being released to cinemas and Disney+ on the same day. The Disney+ stream will cost you extra though.

My suggestion for the week is The Pursuit of Love. A costume drama set in England just prior to the second world war, it has Lily James and Emily Beecham as cousins on the cusp of adulthood as they seek an exit from their ridiculous wealthy family and try to find a husband/lover. The series is funny and a bit sexy. With anachronistic music choices and some fairly liberal modern conversations at time, the show is a step above a lot of costumed period shows, but that's still not enough to get viewers not into that kind of thing over the line.

It's from actor Emily Mortimer who is in a supporting role here, but also directed and wrote the 3-part series. It's based on a trilogy of books by Nancy Mitford.

In a quiet week, you could do worse. The show was a co-production between the BBC and Amazon Prime Video. It already aired in the UK a few months ago, but the rest of the world get it this weekend.
