Always Be Streaming - 5 March 2021
Your weekly guide to the things you can watch on your TV. If you want. No pressure.
Hello from the temporary ABW field office in Prospect, South Australia.
It appears that with a spot of travelling on my schedule, I forgot to actually hit the Publish button on the weekly Always Be Streaming email. You may be unaware of such technical information, but hitting send is actually a vital part of the email process.
The big release this week is Coming 2 America. Reviews have been mixed, leaning negative. It’s a full weekend for me, so it may be an early week watch. Heck, I still haven’t seen the WandaVision finale - but considering I spent more than 30 seconds online without being hit by a massive spoiler, I presume there’s no Luke Skywalker cameo.
Because Eric LaSalle is not in Coming 2 America, I do think it is important to give the Coming 2 America audience the pleasures that the film is denying them.
On this week’s pod, Simon reviews Coming 2 America, Nomadland, and Chaos Walking. And I take a swing back to look at The Knick - one of the all-time great shows that there’s a good chance you haven’t watched (change that soon, I promise you’ll dig it).
We also talk to the General Manager from DOGTV, a streaming service for your dog.
