Some surprises this past week:

1.The new TV series take on Interview With The Vampire is rather good. But you'll need AMC+ to watch it. (FYI fellow Aussies, they have a 45% off promo right now). I also reckon it is great to see Eric Bogosian back on my screen.

2. The HUGE surprise: a new US broadcast show launched that I didn't hate. It's called So Help Me Todd and is super traditional in concept: A failed private eye takes a job working at his mums law firm. Each week they work through their problems with each other while dealing with a new case. The show is diverting fun - an appealing cast and a measured tone goes a long way with this show.

3. The director of the Disney+ horror Marvel special Werewolf By Night is composer Michael Giacchino (Lost, Rogue One, The Batman).

4. And this last one isn't a surprise, but it is just great news: Derry Girls returns to Netflix for its third and final season. The show had returned in the UK a few months back, but now the rest of the world finally gets to watch it.

And now on with the business of weekly listings...
