Here's what I can tell you about this week: There's no huge release titles, but there's no shortage of shows and original streaming films to watch. There's a monster list below.

Some taster thoughts on what's available:

  • Black Bird is inspired by a real life story. I've seen a bit of it and it's actually way better than I felt it would be when I pressed play. The key creative behind this is crime author Dennis Lehane (Gone Baby Gone, Live By Night, Shutter Island).
  • Boo Bitch is exactly the sort of fluffy teen comedy you suspect it is. But don't ignore it entirely as Awkward creator Lauren Iungerich is involved. That teen show proved far better than it ever should be.
  • Modern Love: Hyderbad is an Indian Telugu-language anthology based on the US romantic dramedy anthology.
  • Sci-fi series Moonhaven has been getting some really solid reviews this week. I haven't seen it yet and I'm concerned I have slept on it. I'll definitely check it out. Another reminder that streamer AMC+ is worth paying more attention to than most folks do. Their library additions are never dull.

My personal recommendation: Buy a season of Joe Pera Talks With You on Apple TV or via the Google store. The show just got cancelled by Adult Swim and that has me really frustrated today.

Maybe you'll hate it. But, maybe you're like me and you are ready to discover your new favourite show.
