It's a big weekend for movies, with TV taking a bit of a back seat. But that's going to be a talking point from now until the end of the year. Every week there is a huge movie landing on streaming services with big name stars. Think that's hyperbole? Here's the calendar for the rest of the year:

NOVEMBER 5 - Finch (Tom Hanks) [Apple TV+], The Harder They Fall (Idris Elba, Jonathan Majors) [Netflix]
NOVEMBER 12 - Red Notice (Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Gal Gadot) [Netflix], Home Sweet Home Alone (Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney) [Disney+]

In regards to this week, I can tell you that the Head of The Class reboot show is trash that will only be of interest to young teens (the biggest problem, aside from the terrible comedy writing, is that Isabella Gomez at 23 years old is just way too young to credibly be playing a teacher with any level of life experience), the African American Netflix western The Harder They Fall is reportedly pretty great, and South Korean Apple TV+ drama Dr Brain is a little tired and doesn't live up to the wild promise of its premise. But it does have the son from Parasite in it, Park Seo-joon. And that guy is endlessly watchable.

This week also has the release of Tampa Baes on Amazon Prime Video, beating out Aussie Netflix production Byron Baes. The great Baes War of 2021 has been won.

returning:

The Curse of Oak island (s09), Narcos: Mexico (s03), Big Mouth (s05), Doctor Who (s13), Dickenson (s03), Animaniacs (s02)
