Channing Tatum’s production company Free Association is working on a live-action adaptation of the comic book/animated series The Maxx. Originally a comic by Sam Keith in 1993, the series was adapted for a really wild 1995 MTV cartoon (which aired in Australia on SBS), airing under the MTV Oddities banner.
The story is about a homeless man who dresses up in a costume, but whether he’s a hero is debatable. He has a connection to a social care worker named Julie and may or may not be able to straddle the boundaries between our world and The Outback - a mystical world that is kind of like Australia.

Australian TV director Gary Conway has died at the age of 80. His credits include: Matlock, Division 4, Ryan, Homicide, The Box, Bluey, Skyways, Sara Dane, Cop Shop, Bellamy, Prisoner, A Country Practice and Five Mile Creek, The Flying Doctors, Bony, Blue Heelers, Snowy River: The McGregor Saga and Fire.
He was also credited for 786 episodes of Neighbours from 1988 – 2019.
