Always Be Streaming... on a weird and wild week of TV
Beloved faves return alongside a super odd Steven Soderbergh web series.
Weird week of TV!
It is pretty quiet in terms of volume, but of the shows released, there’s a bunch worth your attention.
Raylan Givens is back with his hat in the sequel series Justified: City Primeval. The first two episodes of this limited series dropped this week. If you didn’t watch the original run of the show, you can jump onto this one without any problems. If you’re after a substantial, yet breezy crime cop show, give it a look.
On the weird end of town is Steven Soderbergh’s web series Command Z. Set in the future, an Elon Musk type of figure sends three people back in time (through mind control only) to try and correct the world of 2023 to save it from the climate catastrophe. Only, the Elon Musk guy is actually an AI, with the actual guy dying years ago in a trip to Mars. It’s oddball TV and I got a real kick out of it. The show is only available through the Command Z website for US$7.99 to buy the season.
The fantastically funny Minx is back for a second season too. This is a show that had been canned by the then-HBOMax, but was revived by Starz for a second run of episodes. It was one of my favourite shows of last year and I’m very much looking forward to its return today. It streams in Australia on Stan.
