Starting today, US Prime Video subscribers will now see mandatory advertising on the service. It can be removed for a $2.99 upcharge.

When introducing its own advertising tier, Netflix reportedly opted not to make ads mandatory on lower tier plans for reasons of diminished customer experience/satisfaction. For Prime Video, the consideration is different…
