TV-wise this weekend you really have three options:

Expats on Prime Video is probably a good choice. I haven’t had an option to watch this yet, but I am interested. It is cinema advocate Nicole Kidman fronting yet another TV series, this one from Lulu Wang (The Farewell). Judy Berman at Time, whose opinions I often disagree with, raved about it at Time. Meanwhile Lucy Mangan at The Guardian, whose opinions I always treasure (even when I don’t agree with them), seems to have also rather liked it - she just finds Nicole Kidman boring nowadays. Hard to argue, Mangan.

Masters of The Air on Apple TV+ is perfectly good if you just want to watch Band of Brothers in planes, only 60% less compelling. The show is on par engagement-wise with The Pacific, so make of that what you will. If you like WWII plane dramas, this will delight.

Something I really liked quite a bit was the public radio satire In The Know. An animated comedy from Mike Judge and Zach Woods, it is stop motion puppets at their most white privileged.

Woods voices Lauren Caspian, an NPR host who is a mix of Ira Glass and Terry Gross (only, uh, amplified). A gimmick of the show is the interviews with real-world celebrities peppered through the show. Think Space Ghost: Coast To Coast/David Tench Tonight. The jokes in the show mostly always land - if you get a kick out of liberal excess being lovingly poked at, this will hit the mark for you.
