There's now nowhere you can turn without seeing a podcast from The Ringer on your TV
Yesterday there was the news that Netflix had signed a deal to bring 14 podcasts from The Ringer to the platform. I was left wondering if that meant the video podcasts would be exclusive to Netflix, or if they would still be available on YouTube.
Confirmation today via this article from Deadline that yes, the Netflix Ringer podcasts will be taken off YouTube.
And that article I linked to at Deadline… it has the news today that The Ringer owner Spotify has signed a deal with Samsung Plus to launch a The Ringer FAST channel which will stream 24/7 episodes of podcasts from The Ringer.
Some of the podcasts that will be included in this channel include The Rewatchables, Higher Learning with Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay, Speidi’s 16th Minute, Book of Basketball 2.0, The Big Picture and The Ringer-verse.
How long will it be until every major podcast network has its own FAST channel? I give it a few months.
