This week is all about money and Jesus. Choose money.
Billions is back. So is Killing It. Watch either of them and give The Chosen One a miss.
It’s difficult for me to call this a quiet week of TV. Billions came back for its seventh and final season - I never got past the first episode, but I know there are folks who LOVE it. And for me… well, season two of Killing It is back - a show I adored the first season of. It is a hugely funny look at two people trying to get by financially who find themselves in the world of competitive gator hunting.
If you didn’t see season one of Killing It, please get onto it. The show is bonkers great. I promise you’ll get through the first season without even noticing - it’s a quick and breezy watch.
Craig Robinson is hilarious in it - the best he’s ever been. And Aussie Claudia O’Doherty is a hysterical delight always.
The big Netflix release this week is The Chosen One, based on the edgelord nonsense comic from Mark Millar that was first titled Chosen, but he rebranded it American Jesus. The original comic was not especially good and the TV series meets this standard, only now it is in Spanish. I found episode one a real slog to get through and then mercifully fell asleep in episode two. I can’t bring myself to press play on the third. Please don’t make me.
