The A Quiet Place extended universe. Or is it a sequel?

The sequel to A Quiet Place was bumped thanks to the stupid virus. So we don’t really know how much appetite there is for this franchise beyond the initial hit film. That isn’t stopping the birth of an extended universe of films with Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter, Loving, Midnight Special) directing a film that is either the third in the series, or an off-shoot. Either way, the opportunity for a Jeff Nichols film is always welcome.

(That said… I do wish Nichols was instead still working on the Alien Nation film he had been developing prior to the Disney Fox merger. I’ve got a fondness for that franchise and I think Nichols would have been a great voice on it).
