We’ve heard about live action Star Wars shows set to launch on Disney+, but did you know that the next one is going to be a Star Wars themed game show? No. Really.
Hosted by Ahmed Best (he’s the guy who had his life and career ruined by playing Jar Jar Binks), the show is described as:
The game show set in a galaxy far, far away, will test young contestants’ abilities in the core Jedi principles of strength, knowledge, and bravery as they face thrilling and fun obstacles in an attempt to achieve the rank of Jedi Knight! From lightsabers to hyperspace, the Force, and the dark side, Jedi Temple Challenge transports viewers and contestants into the Star Wars galaxy like never before.
It’s a kids game show, which I think is a great idea for Disney+ and a bad idea for me. It’ll be awkward for me to explain to Mrs ABW on why I’m watching a kids game show. Which isn’t to say I won’t.

Dorothy Catherine Fontana has died at the age of 80. Dorothy was a TV writer on Star Trek where she wrote 11 episodes (including one of my favourites, This Side of Paradise which is the one where Spock acts goofy after breathing in weirdo flower spores).
Fontana went on to write episodes of the Star Trek animated series, the opening two-parter of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and some more TNG and Deep Space Nine episodes.
As a female writer, several episodes of her work was attributed to male pseudonyms. She even went by the name DC rather than Dorothy to avoid being discriminated against. DC Fontana was absolutely a part of the DNA of Star Trek and her passing deserves to be noted as a considerable loss in the world of pop culture.

The new Steven Moffat/Mark Gatiss Dracula series debuts on BBC One on New Years Day. The three-part mini-series will continue nightly until Jan 3.
