Throughout Friday night You’ll find Twitter and Facebook increasingly filled with your friends/family talking about the new Netflix movie Wine Country. It’s Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, and friends as late-40-somethings drinking wine and hanging out for two hours. And frankly, sometimes that’s all you need.

But by Sunday lunchtime, I am pretty sure I’m going to be tired of hearing about it.

Time Magazine’s Stephanie Zacharek writes:

Wine Country springs to life here and there, but there’s something dispiriting about the way these women seem to be working hard for laughs rather than just being funny.

For youth trash-fun, the Lord of The Flies-inspired The Society is worth a look. Starring in that is Pamela Adlon’s daughter Gideon Adlon. You might remember her as being one of the best things about the film Blockers.

Dan Feinberg at The Hollywood Reporter says:

Netflix's high school 'Lord of the Flies' riff from 'Party of Five' co-creator Christopher Keyser isn't always as fresh or fluid as it thinks it is, but has some big ideas and moves well.

HBO’s Chernobyl is reportedly rather incredible. Not many laughs in that one.
