On this very quiet morning for ABW...

Former Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman appeared on stage at Coachella with guitar in hand playing a bunch of his own songs and themes he composed throughout his long Hollywood career.

But the showstopper was this: an extremely loud and extreme version of The Simpsons theme (for which he's been collecting royalty cheques for 30+ years).

Days returns to going beyond Salem

Streaming Days of Our Lives event series Beyond Salem (which had DOOL cast members old and new travelling the world for supernaturally-tinged artifacts, or some such nonsense) will return for a second season.

Fan favorites Kristian Alfonso and Peter Reckell will lead the sequel season which will also return other DOOL characters.

Beyond Salem will follow the characters to locations ranging from Hong Kong to Morocco as “heartwarming family reunions take a dangerous turn as a mysterious adversary wreaks havoc on their lives. The next chapter of Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem is a story full of larger-than-life romance, jaw-dropping twists, and high-stakes drama — and it all connects back to a plot that long-time Days fans will surely remember.”

It returns July 11.

New CNN boss set to exit Twitter

Weird - apparently new CNN chief Chris Licht reckons being in an echo chamber is a bad idea.

Love Twitter as I might, I say this is a smart move for Licht. Twitter is great for giving a voice to the marginalised and in creating communities, but too often those on the platform mistake these conversations for mainstream sentiment, only to be disappointed by real world action. Licht is smart to get out from all of that.

The final season of Ultraman streams on Netflix in 2023.

It's not like there was nothing to discuss today - I found the above stories interesting. But boy has it been quiet so far this week. Tomorrow we will have Netflix earnings results. If numbers are down or don't meet expectations, it is going to be a huge story with major ramifications. So, stay tuned for that...
