It is an interesting week for fans of genre TV. The big release of the week has been the series revival of Veronica Mars. Technically its fourth season, it is a fairly standalone season of TV (I’ve included it below as a new series). There’s certainly minor references to seasons gone by, but there’s nothing that would prevent anyone from understanding what’s going on. And I enjoyed the heck out of the season. It is smart, easy to watch TV.
Sci-fi fans might get a kick out of Another Life. I don’t think the show is mature enough with its storytelling to succeed with the ideas it keeps skirting around exploring, but it is watchable.
And then there’s the debut of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys - it’s an incredibly dark, adult, filthy show about superheroes. And I am absolutely here for it.

Each week, in addition to the daily newsletter, Always Be Watching has its weekly guide to the new and returning shows. If you find value in this each week, consider a paid subscription. It’s less a subscription and more a tip jar.
